The Championship Meet

At the end of the season, all 6 teams in the league come together for one final day of competition and fun! This Championship meet is grander and longer than all of the dual meets, and is open for all swimmers to enjoy!

The Championship Meet is typically held on the third week of July. Eight of the previous nine Champs meets were held at the beautiful facilities of the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford University, the home pool for Stanford swimmers. Imagine your six-year-old competing on the really big stage! It is a unique opportunity for all ages.

This year Stanford is unavailable due to Olympic Trials, and therefore the League Championships will be hosted at nearby DeAnza College!

Every swimmer who has competed in two or more dual meets is encouraged to sign up for Champs. As with dual meets, each swimmer can swim a maximum of three individual strokes. For relays, only one mixed medley relay per age group team represents the whole club for that age group. Selection of the relay team is the perogative of the coaches.

Awards Ceremony After Champs

On the evening of Champs (usually around 7:00pm), the Swim Team has its annual awards ceremony, and generally relives the long and exciting day! At this end-of-the season event, swimmers are honored and parents are thanked for their participation. Trophies are given to all those who participated and awards are given to those who made special contributions. At dusk, a slide show of memorable moments completes the evening. Bring beverages, desserts, lawn chairs, blankets and jackets.
